We stopped for a little retail therapy and lunch in Bobcaygeon Lock #32. Bigley's I think ownes the town, as they have about 5 stores, with the most famous being the shoe store. I walked through the stores and Ron got us a table for lunch. Didn't buy a thing but it was fun to be in a "busy" town with a fair amount of people for a few hours. Kawartha Lakes are just beautiful! every place you look is a picture. On we go!

Our next lock at Lovesick Lock #30 we met up with our friends on Babe from our home marina in Bradenton. You never know who you will meet around a corner! We spent the night and shared Ron's Caesar Salad and talked about our "sea stories" . A little hidden gem was the pool you see. When Parks Canada closes a lock they use boulders and cement to close if up and in this case it created a nice little pool, shallow so the water is fairly warm. On our way!

Just arrived at the Peterborough Lock. This lock is an engineering marvel! The world's highest hydraulic lift lock. We "floated" up 65' on a vertical lift. The lock opened in 1904., even today more than 105 years later it is a marvel. We tied our boat to the horizontal black rails on the side of the locking pan. ( so this pan fills up with water & boats, the pan on the other side fills up with water ) It raises and lowers with the hydraulic lift. Amazing!!!! We walked downtown for dinner, tried to connect with our MSPS friend Bryan Healey and he was out of town. We went through the lock with our friends on Texas 2 Step. What an experience.!On our way.

Our first overnight on the wall at Campbellford. A really cute town, were arrived on Friday so Saturday morning they had a farmers market. Ontario raised grass-fed beef we bought a couple rib eye's for the grill, of course you have to try the butter tarts. Ok really! basically they are a pecan pie with out the pecans. My friend Gerrylyn makes an awesome pecan pie. Any I like that better. When in Rome, so you have to try them. Stored the produce and goodies, on our way.
