A fleet of about 7 looper boats left Alton together headed for Hoppie's - a looper landmark. As we passed the Gateway Arch we took pictures of each other. Back to Hoppies, in the day Fern would give a river update to loopers while smoking a cigarette under the no smoking sign, next to the gas pumps. Fern is under the weather, although I did get to talk to her when I made our reservation Her daughter Deb gave the update, Hoppies is a must as it is the last diesel for the next 107 miles and 228 miles for gasoline.

We walked into town for lunch at the Blue Owl and Mary the owner came and gave our group her story of Levee High Apple Pie, Mary has been featured in Oprah, Forbes, Today Show to name a few. The levee high pie weighs 10 lbs and you can order for your next gathering. During the great flood of "93" was a threat to the entire Kimmswick community and the evacuation of the Blue Owl. They were save by thousands of volunteers and National Guard who built the earthen levee outside their back door. The Levee High Apple Pie has 18 Golden Delicious Apples. Save your pennies as it cost's almost $100. ( I must say it is an experience!) And we are off to the next experience.

Our friends Norm & Susie on Jubilant met at Tanger Island and have tag teamed with them throughout the loop.

Bucket List passes the arch.
