We are starting to slow down on the number of miles we do per day. We don't have to be at Joe Wheeler State Park for the AGLCA fall rendezvous until October 15. We left Paris Landing with a few other looper boats on our way to Pebble Isle Marina. The Tennessee River banks are beautiful limestone. We are seeing eagles almost everyday.

What's new to us in this area is the covered slips. Ron doesn't like them as it blocks out the Direct TV. I see the value when they get the heat in the summer. We have had some 85-90 degree days and when we had a cover it really helped. Also the number of very large houseboats. If you have ever vacationed on Lake Cumberland or Lake Powell the same idea. I think you could spend an entire summer on Barkley /Kentucky Lake and never anchor in the same spot twice.

The Battle of Johnsonville was fought here during the civil war. We drove through the park and thought about the steep hills and river banks the soldiers had to climb. This area is rich in history and battle grounds of the civil war.

Pebble Isle Marina makes cinnamon rolls for the boaters each morning, we really splurged and had one both mornings we were at the marina. The Tennessee River is controlled on this section by the Kentucky Dam on the North and the Pickwick Dam on the South. The staff at the marina told us that they know what dam is letting our water by the way the water runs by the fuel dock. Very scientific Of course docktails with old and new loopers friends. We will leave tomorrow with the boats Otter and Jubilant to anchor at Lick Creek.
