We loved our stop at Half Moon Bay, A beautiful ride up the Hudson, Oh did I say the 79th Street Boat Basin in NYC is very shallow who would think that? we must have sucked up something as one of our engines ran hot and alarms went off and we were in the current of the Hudson, we dropped anchor and of course the windlass broke and we had to pull the anchor up by hand. That is what "Sea" stories are made of you can't make this stuff up. The rest of the day was beautiful, you just have to forget the "moments". Arrived to Half Moon Bay, Steve the dockmaster is amazing. We met up with the Misty Pearl ( Doug & Dana) we first met at AGLCA in Norfolk, then again in Baltimore, Delaware City, ... That is one of the things I love about this trip is you don't know who you will see again and when.

We went to dinner ( of course) , the next day we did West Point and I have to say it is beautiful. The large chain in the photo's is part of what is left of a chain they would put across the Hudson so when the "English" came down the river that would tear up the bottom of the ships. They had to take out in the winter, ugly job!. The chain stories were enough to scare the English not to come down the river.

The pipe organ at West Point is the largest in the world. The chapel is beautiful.

Then on to the Culinary Institute / Roosevelt Home/ Vanderbilt Manson Dinner at the Culinary Institute and back to the boat. Ron loved the chiefs hat on the stop sign. Interesting the Hudson River they call the river that runs both ways. Something to think about and up the Hudson we go.
