One more time with passion. We left the Ohio River at Paducah to head to the Cumberland River. About 1/3 of the way down the Cumberland we found out that the Barkley Dam has been closed since last night. Electrical problems on the Dam door. So we all slowed way down. We arrive about 2:30 and it was still closed. The Lockmaster let us tie up to the wall and we watched fishing viz bow and arrows for carp, very interesting. Finally about 7 pm they started to make progress and we all decided to make dinner and see what happens. At times like this it's comfort food so I broke out the Spaghetti and meatballs. Just as I started to boil the water they called and said they were going to let us all lock through, an yes it is now dark. At this point we had 6 looper boats heading into the losk. Green Turtle Bay was just around the corner less than a mile. When we departed the lock there was a barge waiting to lock through. A quick side step and once again going into a marina in the dark. Fellow loopers waving flashlights and guiding us in.

We pull into our slip and the dockmaster said Bucket List you are leaving tomorrow correct, and I said no we have reservations until Wednesday. He said no your leaving tomorrow. At this point i went back inside and finished making dinner with tears in my eyes. My hero Ron went to talk to the dockmaster and said he had made his wife cry and he had heard me make the reservation. The dockmaster said we would work it out. In the end the large glass of red wine and spaghetti was great and a good night's sleep is what we needed.

The dockmaster came over first thing in the morning and apologized for upsetting me. I remember our friends Bob & Monique told us the river's were not their favorite part of the trip. We decided to stay at Greene Turtle for a week, Zumba in the indoor pool, Mani, Pedi, Massage & Facial at the spa. Sitting in the spa deers were outside the back door watching us.

We rented a car on Friday and drove to Nashville to see the Grand Ode Opr, toured backstage after the show, visited Broadway & Jack's B-que. Long day as we drove back to the boat after the show. We met up with loopers we had not seen since Lake Michigan, and of course docktails. We will now leave the Cumberland River and head over to the Tennessee River and Kentucky Lake the largest man made lake in the world.
