Needed to get back to the boat to rest a crazy 48 hours in DTW. Our friend Gisa's mom passed and we attend the memorial service. Spent the night with Bob & Dee Murphy and Brenda Murphy had also flown in for the memorial service. A great Mexican dinner with Bob & Dee's daughter Sam and her family.

Stopped at a old favorite Layette Coney Island and had lunch & visited the neighborhood garden downtown Detroit. We just smiled as we drove through the city we both love and happy to see it making a very slow but strong comeback. On to the Federal Court House.

Our 4th child we call him- Andy, came to us 20 years ago this year, when Carley came home from school and said there was a foreign exchange student that the host family could not take once he was here. They can't officially enroll a student in school until he has a host family. At the time our #2 son was away at college and Carley thought that Arin's room was empty and why not.

Well Ron did feel the same, as Carley and I approached him ( while he was taking out the dock at the lake house) He said "NO" I am not having a 16 year old girl and a 17 year old boy in the house - Debbie travels all the time and this would not work. Well Carley asked if he could come to Sunday dinner and of course we said yes. Well he never left! We Love Andy as a son. While we were in Detroit. Andy became a citizen of the United States of America. We could not have been more proud, than to be there with him!!

On to Utica High for Max's honor's ceremony ( with a quick stop in Birmingham to see Ann's stylist for cut and color, I am a new woman.) A great evening with the family 4 of the 7 grandchildren ( Carley & Josh at the the Indy 500 this weekend) . So proud of all three of the graduated this year and we will be back in Michigan next month for the Graduation party for all 3. Max is graduting with honors from Utica High, Chelsea from Ferris State, with Accounting Major, & Amber graduated in December from Wayne State with a degree in Speech Therapy and will continue on for her masters. ( lighting was not good at high school bummer)

The photo's of the flowers are at my sister's Ann's home in Birmingham, these are the Iris and peonies that came from my mom's and my grandpa's garden. 3 rd generations my grandfather had huge ( acres) flower gardens.
